Standard Chartered's global website is an incredibly important asset for them. As most marketing collateral for both retail and business audiences primarily promotes sc.com (so they can present the breadth of the bank's offer) - it acts as the portal for all online banking services and therefore attracts larger and more diverse audiences than most corporate sites.
The challenge was therefore to create a site that both meets the demands of those people wanting to go straight to a particular piece of information or online banking service, as well as encourage them to find out more about the bank's overall values, and the breadth of its products and services.
The new site brings rich and useful content that was once hidden within reports, microsites and other online sources, to the fore. As well as presenting simple and intuitive navigation for all audiences, the site is easy to manage by a relatively small global team which helps maintain a high level of coherence and consistency that was previously lacking. The design is bold and confident to reflect the bank's new found belief in itself and bring to life their 'Here for good' brand promise - Standard Chartered's commitment to doing 'what's right' so they can deliver time and again.
